Less is More have a colour challenge this week. Cards for the challenge need plenty of 'white space' (empty, unadorned) that isn't actually white. There are some gorgeous entries already in and yet again I'm wowed by the collective creativity of the LIMettes!
Here's my card for the challenge. I wanted to make a pretty, fun card that a mother could give to a daughter 'just because'. Unfortunately, the colours have really bleached out in the photo. The pinks are much more intense in real life.
I used Sure Cuts A Lot 3 and my Black Cat Cougar to cut out heart shapes and a sentiment (the font is Italian Cherry Soda) from a layer of black card. I then re-cut the heart shapes and sentiment on white card. The heart shapes were coloured using VersaColor pigment inks in three shades of pink to give an ombre effect as they go down the card. The sentiment was coloured using Tsukineko Encore metallic silver ink. (I know, the photo makes it look white. Grrrrrrr.) The shapes were then all inlaid onto the die cut layer so the top of the card is smooth and flat, and the layer was popped up on a base card using foam pads.
