Less is More #281 - faux bleach - card 1

I love the faux bleach technique and use it a lot in art journaling, so when Less is More made it this week's challenge I got a bit carried away with the card making!

Here's my first card.

Using a panel of Neenah Solar White card stock, I clear heat embossed the grasses and butterfly from the Inkadinkado Meadow stamp set and then blended over the stamping with Milled Lavender, Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord Distress Inks to create an ombre effect. The embossing powder was removed by putting the panel into a sandwich of printer paper and ironing over the top until the embossing had melted into the top layer of printer paper leaving empty white spaces behind on the card where it had been. I then stamped the sentiment from the Clearly Besotted A Little Sentimental stamp set in Hickory Smoke Distress Ink, cut it out and gave it a faux stitched line using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Borders. The whole panel was mounted onto a card base from Neenah Solar White card stock using foam tape.

I liked it so much I did another one using bright colours of Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks. This time I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card base. I also included a more detailed butterfly at the top from the Card-io Majestix Emily's Garden stamp set.

The DT have come up with some absolutely gorgeous inspiration cards and the gallery is filling with beautiful entries so why not take a look?
