Happiness is a handmade card

Published project: textile art tag album for Craft Stamper magazine

Hi everyone, today I'm excited to share a sneak peek of my textile art tag album "Hidden Messages" published in Craft Stamper magazine, as part of a feature about the awesome Seven Hills Crafts store.
Craft Stamper is a UK monthly magazine for rubber stamping and mixed media enthusiasts, so the Seven Hills DT were excited to make some projects for this issue.

Seven Hills Crafts is an online store run by Tara and Rick, specialising in importing quality craft products from the USA. If you find yourself lusting after the latest American brand releases each month, this is where you need to go! There's also a Seven Hills Crafts blog with daily projects from the DT (I post on Wednesdays).

My textile art tag album was inspired by a line from a poem by Emily Brontë: “Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.” The young leaves on the tags inside the album hide inspirational messages. As the seasons turns to autumn, the leaves release their messages. They tumble downwards to lie, dry and hidden, in the long stitched grass.

To buy the magazine, visit www.craftstamper.com to buy subscriptions, www.mags-uk.com for single print copies, and digital copies from www.pocketmags.co.ukOverseas subscriptions are available too!

I used quite a few produc
ts to make this album:

  • Medium weight cotton curtain interlining, stiffened with a PVA glue/water mixture and dried with wrinkles
  • Corrugated card from packaging
  • Brown tags
  • Tissue paper

General products
  • Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink
  • Claudine Hellmuth Studio Multi-Medium Gloss
  • Cream thread
